Format an internal date as DD.MM.YYYY.

Parameters

DATA external_date TYPE string.

Example output:

14.10.2026

Uses DD.MM.YYYY because the simulator does not have SAP user locale settings.

Exceptions: DATE_NO_PLAUSIBLE
